Top Team
Last Friday at our school we had Top team. Do you know what top team is? Top team is a series of collaborative team activities. there were 12 activities to try and we got 5 minutes on each. I fortunately got in a team with one of my best friends Isabella Link to Her Blog. we did a game called gutter ball. Gutter ball, this game was when we had to move a ball from one side to the other but we couldn't touch the ball, so we used half pipes to move it. bean bag slingshot, In this game we had to sling a bean bag and try and get our team to catch it, the piece of red fabric we had to move. naughts and crosses, we had to run up and put down our symbol. hula toss, we had to throw a hula hoop over a ring secret pathway, with this we had to find a secret pathway over a grid. highest tower out of blocks, self explanatory. pipe burst, we had to fill a pipe with holes with water and cover the holes with our fingers, water bus, we had throw water over our heads without looking and try to get the person behind us to catch it in their bucket. jumping sac we all had to get into a big sac and try to move around, whole team ski we had to put our feet in and move it, a ball maze, we had to move the ball from board to board but we had to put it through a hole that we had to do the maze to get to.
Top team was so fun. Have you ever done the Top Team Challenge?!

Thursday Sports rotation
For the last 2 weeks in home bases on Thursdays we have been participating in sports that some of us might not have played before. So far I've done korfball, soft ball and cricket. I've been enjoying myself playing these sports. I still have lawn boles to do. My favorite so far has been korfball. It's very similar to basketball and netball. It has some strange rules like, if you can only block a ball if the thrower is the same gender as you, if you get close enough to them that you can touch them and you block them they can't trow in that direction, if they do. it's called a good defender shot and then the opposite team gets the ball. It's really fun and I would totally play it over any of the other sports. Thank you for reading my blog. :)
Have you ever played Korfball?

Reading Task
This week in Reading my workshop was focusing on coming up with new ideas and ways of thinking with the way we read a text piece. This week I was looking at a story called keep your cats inside. The text was interesting it had really good points and I enjoyed reading it. For my reading create task before I had even read the book I had to explain my prior knowledge/what I already knew about the text. I then had to put down some points on what gathered from the text, then my new understanding. Here is how i placed it all out
Tough Kids 2019
Today was the of tough kids 2019! You might be asking what this means? well this was a yearly fun mud run. The Yr7/8 got to wear mufti. we were the only hub that got to. It was really fun. we had to walk in the water, climb over treys, crawl on our hands and knees. climb under and over things. there was a water slide at the end. This was such a good experience. it was a 2.7km walk or run. Me and my friend Glen did it together. It was awesome fun we both enjoyed it. at the end we got an apple and then got changed. then we went back to school on the bus and finished off the day with some P.B.L planning.
Attitude presentation
back in week 5 we had attitude come in and talk to the hub. We all met in the hall and then right on the screen we see the word puberty. attitude cam and spoke to us about how are body is going to change and how it already has changed. It was a bit awkward at start but then I started understanding. The man made us shout out body parts to make us feel a bit less awkward. The next day on Wednesday we were separated by gender and then went off. The boys had the same guy as yesterday and the girls had a lady called Emma who stayed in the hub with them. The second lesson was more into. Like we had a quiz and learnt about things in way more depth. It was a good experience and it helped me understand myself a bit more. Thanks for reading my Blog

phytoplankton - crucial member of Antarctica
endemic - animals that are native and originally came from a specific part of a country
invertebrates - animals that don't have spines
methodology - the method you use t record observations
Did you know any of these? do you have any words you can teach others? if so comment down below.

Ashly my dog
At home I have one pet, her name is ash. ash is a purebred staffy. my family first got ash back in 2014. Back in 2014 she was 11 months old and pregnant. she was living with a family that din't appreciate her and would abuse her. they would lock her up against a cloths line all day with no water. they would beat her. We then picked her up from the SPCA. When we got her she was a very scarred dog. She was terrified of men and would get really scared. We trained her commands like, sit, this was, stop and toilet. she is now 5 living her best life putting her horrible past behind her. Her puppies where born around the time my brother was born. in May 2014. they were beautiful puppies. out of 6 one didn't make it. we burred her in our backyard. there was a puppy that had white fur above his eyes and it looked like eye brows. he was so cute and he would bark at the vacuum cleaner. We gave the pups away to close family friends. Here are some pictures of Ash and the puppies.
How to make an apple pie
Back in week 2 at school we had an international shared. Everyone in the hub brought a food from a country that they pulled out of a hat. I got the USA so made apple pie. The shared lunch was really cool and I got to try lots of different foods I had never tried before. I will give you the recipe I used because a lot of people liked it at school. I recommend you make it, it's pretty easy.

Camp term 4 2019
Hey welcome back to my blog. Last week I spent Tuesday to Friday at the Wainui Camp. Camp was really fun. There was so much fun things that we could do. We stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights I enjoyed myself, but today i'm going to be telling you my four points from camp. What I found challenging, what I was grateful for, what my favorite thing was and what I Learnt.
Challenging.
It was the beginning of camp me and Glen were talking on the bus. after going down hill for a bit and getting on some straight road the bus stopped. It looked like we were in the middle of no where. We got out of the bus and walked across the road. There were several instructors by this huge hill ready to take us on the 6 km tramp. I had no Idea what to expect but to my discoveries we had to walk up a huge hill. It felt like we were walking forever, and stopping occasionally. All of the beginning was uphill. but after a little bit we had made it to the top. The rest of the way was either flat, down hill or the smallest bit of uphill. The beginning of the tramp was what I found challenging.
Grateful.
Our parent helper for my activity group was called Steve. Steve was one of my friends Cleo's dad. He was really good help for me. In high ropes he made me less nervous and taught me how to properly belay- supporting someones rope in high ropes. In orienteering he helped me and my friend Katrina to find what we were looking for. In coastering he helped me climb on the rocks. He was such a huge help. He raised my confidence level with most activities we did. With out him I would haven't been able to do most of the activities. Steve the parent helper is who I'm grateful for.
Favorite.
The thing that I absolutely enjoyed the most about camp was all the activities we could do. Like having a timetable to follow was so fun. I would always have to check it to know what I was doing next. Plus the activity group I was in was a good one. I had one of my best friends Joe with me. And when I struggled. they would always cheer me on and help me do it. The activities that I could do and my activity group was my favorite part of camp.
Learnt.
This is kind of a funny story but when me and Katrina were doing orienteering we tried to cross a seasonal water way. This was just a tiny stream with some mud by it. I tried to leap in but then to my surprise my whole foot just sunk in the mud. I was so angry. my good shoes were no even dieter then my bad shoes. We walked over to Steve and he told me to go wash it and it it back on. I didn't want to wear a wet shoe but it was my only choice. After that activity we had some down time so I wore my scuffs. The next day we had water activities so I didn't my good shoes but by the time I came back They were dry. So I learnt to never under estimate a mud puddle.
